Madison Heights Youth Soccer Association

April Newsletter

Hello!

I would like to welcome all of you to MHYSA Spring Soccer 2014!

Now that most, if not all of the snow is gone, and the fields are drying up we are beginning to get underway with our spring soccer season. We have been busy finalizing teams and schedules. The start of our season is going to be 04/12/14.

** Schedules will be posted on our webpage as they become available. **

All players/parents should have been contacted by coaches to let you know when and where practices are taking place.

Players need to have shin guards and soccer cleats for both practice and games for U6 and above. If you are still in need of a uniform for U6 and above please email us at getinfo@mhysa.net. Tots will receive their shirts from their coaches.

Volunteers are very much needed and appreciated. We are still looking for volunteers to help in the following areas: Concession stand, Assistant Coaches, and even some board member positions are available. If you can volunteer please email us at getinfo@mhysa.net.

Coaches: Thank you so much for dedicating your time to help coach this season. With games just around the corner make sure that you have done your risk management and concussion training. I have put the links on the webpage under coaching resources. Please make sure that you print out the risk management card. You need to keep this card on you as you may be asked to show it during a game.  At the end of the concussion training you will be able to print your certificate for completing the course. This needs to be turned in to the concession stand or given to your division manager to be kept on file. Coaches that do not have their risk management or concussion certification on file with MHYSA will NOT be able to hold practice or coach a game until we receive it. NO EXCEPTIONS.  Parent/player concussion forms must be filled out and turned in to division managers by the 1st game. They can also be turned in at the concession stand at the 1st game.  We are working hard to get as many coaching resources on to the new webpage to assist you with coaching. In addition to our webpage please go to us youth soccer and utilize their coaching resources.

We are looking forward to a great 2014 spring season. Please visit our webpage for upcoming events. You can also follow us on Facebook.

Sincerely,

Jillian Fisher
